June/July Insta Diary

There's no better diary than your Instagram feed. Aside from, you know, an actual diary. Looking back on your feed and thinking, "oh, hey, I remember that" or "wow that photo has so many unpleasant memories attached to it." The latter is much more accurate than the former let's be honest. And while I'm guilty of not posting to Instagram very often when I do there's always something behind the image that has relevance acting as a visual diary of sorts and documenting my current feels.

Back in late May/early June, I was preparing to road trip to Sydney. Something I hadn't done since I was but a wee little child. Only, unlike my 11-year-old self, I had to bring all the makeup with me and thus, had to prepare to transport my brushes without causing them harm. Luckily for me, Vogue came with a free makeup bag the perfect size for brushes and my life was saved.

June 1 rolled around and with it, the beginning of my Internship at Belle Magazine. I'd been working on getting a magazine internship for months and when I got one it was like a dream come true. The actual magazine environment was also a dream come true. It was a short week, but a sweet one and only solidified my career goals of working in that industry. I walked out, happy that I had done it and ready to try and make my career dreams come true.

During my second week in Sydney, I met Audrey Hepburn. While exploring the city, the family I was with decided going to Madame Tussauds would be a good idea. Was it? Not really. I was thoroughly freaked out, and what made it worse, was the fact that we went just before it closed, so it was basically empty. I was just waiting for one of the wax figures to move as soon as I looked away (weeping angels style.) The only thing that made it worthwhile was Audrey. I quote, "Madame Tussauds is actually legit, creeping me out. This has to be triggering something. I better see Audrey Hepburn for all this." - Twitter.

I refused to leave Sydney without visiting Sephora and walked out with a few goodies, one of which has become my new favourite perfume. All I can say is that Sephora is an experience.

Speaking of my idol and role model Audrey Hepburn, I managed to find a biography style book based on her time on the silver screen. And I died with happiness. (And it was only $5.) About a day later while at the post office, I spotted the most wonderful mug - Audrey in pop art style and just had to make her mine. My Audrey merch collection is growing, so it seems.
What marks an iconic week of Audrey, I finally found the perfect set of Tarot Cards to add to my witchy collection. Something I've wanted for so long.

Peach tea, both iced and hot, is my new obsession. Seriously, I've purchased three 1-litre bottles of the iced tea so far and always get a little one with food when I eat out. I can't get enough, this stuff is magic like, what did I ever do before peach tea and why did it take me so long to discover its joys?

  1. In Queensland there is a wax museum full of torture devices, It's the other half of a wax museum filled with celebs. My sister and I were only young and the guy who worked there said yeah yeah they'll be fine, they're old enough. We were not fine. I still remember a lot of the stuff and it was at least 10 years ago.

Moving on, peach tea is the best and I'm going to go follow you on instagram now to try and steal some of your style.

    1. Oh my gosh, that sounds like something straight out of a horror movie like my imagination would be going nuts in that museum, especially considering I was so freaked out by harmless Madame Tussauds! I feel for you, I wouldn't be fine even now ahah!
Peach tea is amaze and why, thank you, my dear, steal away!
